Jeannette Cuevas of Pleas-anton has been named one of the winners of the 2013 “Art and Conservation: Our Hidden Treasures” show and sale in April, presented by the Cibolo Nature Center and Farm, the Hill Country Council for the Arts, and Boerne Professional Artists.

Twenty-five Texas artists from across Texas spent a year getting to know 19 private Hill Country ranches to create art for the show. The purpose of the show is to promote conservation of Hill Country land, water, and wildlife.

Cuevas took the People’s Choice Award for $100 -- based on voting by exhibit visitors -- for her pastel over watercolor, “Cactus Jewels.” The work was her jury entry, based on a view from the side of a public road near Pleasanton.
