ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. STOCKDALE -- The local junior high school district tennis tournament was held May 4 in Stockdale, with Stockdale having a strong showing of 17 players.

In eighth-grade girls singles, two Lady Brahmas made the finals, with Hannah Hernandez becoming the district champion, and Velma Vidal finishing as district runner-up. Joel Marquez was also the district champion in eighth-grade boys singles, with teammate Joshua Rangel finishing second, and Justin Cannon playing in the first round.

The seventh-grade division brought home three medals. Matthew Dunn finished as district champion, and Collin Akin finished as district runner-up. Teammates Garrison Conkel, Gene Nugent, Enoc Clapp, and Alex McInvale made a strong showing in boys singles. The girls doubles team of Karlye Lynn and Callye McGee took home silver medals. First-round players in boys doubles were Thomas Burrier and Jacob Vaughn, and teammates Jalen Cano and Jorge Navarro.

The district event ended a four-tournament year for the Stockdale Junior High School tennis team.
