H.O.P.E. Day is May 24 in Stockdale
Several years ago, Stockdale High School formed a group called H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere), with the intention of choosing a cause and, through the help of the student body, working toward a goal of raising money. This year’s H.O.P.E. benefit will be held on Friday, May 24, in the high school gym and will honor former ag teacher Rickey Neill, who is currently battling pancreatic cancer.
Rickey was diagnosed years ago while he was still an ag teacher at the high school. He played an instrumental part in the ag department, FFA, and 4-H clubs here in Wilson County. The Neill family has requested that all money earned be donated to pancreatic cancer awareness in Rickey’s name, in the hope that others who are battling this dreaded disease can be cured.
The public is invited to attend. We are asking for any monetary donations for this event, as we will be hosting a competition day in the morning and a carnival in the afternoon.
All the proceeds will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Society in its fight to cure cancer. Donations may be sent to Stockdale High School, Attn: Charlin Akin, P.O. Box 7, Stockdale, TX 78160. Checks can be made payable to Stockdale ISD H.O.P.E. Day.
