Raymond Lee Kowalik Sr. passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, in Schertz, Texas, at the age of 72 years, 2 months, and 5 days. He was born March 12, 1941, in Falls City, the son of Nick and Pelagia “Pearl” Moy Kowalik. He was a former resident of Southern California and a resident of Falls City for more than 20 years. Raymond was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Kowalik; his brother, Virgil Kowalik Sr.; and his daughter, Susan Kowalik Syrell.

Raymond is survived by his children, Lori Rightsell and husband Jerry of Schertz, Wendy Kowalik of Converse, Sandy Kowalik of Converse, Kelly Chafee and husband Marshall of Georgetown, and Raymond Lee Kowalik Jr. of Marysville, Wash.; his sister, Madelyn Benson of San Antonio; and his brothers, James Kowalik of California, Lester Kowalik and wife Dorothy of San Antonio, Leonard Kowalik Sr. of San Antonio, Anthony Kowalik of San Antonio, and Robert Kowalik and wife Jackie of La Vernia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven, William, Chris, Eric, Saige, J.D., Allison, Madison, Kassandra, Rachel, and Christina; his great-grandchildren, Savanna, Sadie Kay, and Joshua; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, from 6-8 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A rosary will be recited Friday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Gregory Sawicki officiating.

Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Falls City.

Memorial donations for the headstone will be accepted.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Dean, William Dean, Chris Rightsell, Saige Kowalik, J.D. Kowalik, Leonard Kowalik Jr., Virgil Kowalik, Jacob McClellan, and Vance Kowalik.
