FALLS CITY -- In addition to having a new member, the Falls City Independent School District (ISD) board of trustees now has a new president.
The board began the May 15 meeting by canvassing the results of the May 11 election. Incumbents Eddie Bordovsky and Patrick Jarzombek each were re-elected to two-year terms while newcomer Marlon Moczygemba was elected to finish the one-year unexpired term left vacant by former board member Stephen Dziuk.
Following the canvass, Superintendent’s Secretary Teri Crawford administered the oath of office to the three winners. When the board took action to reorganize, Jarzombek was chosen as its president. Former President Raymond Dziuk is now the vice president, while the secretary continues to be Mindy Jendrusch.
Also during the meeting, Principal Christy Blocker gave the final enrollment report for the 2012-13 school year. The Luther Thomas Elementary School had 177 students, with an average daily attendance rate of 97 percent. Falls City High School had 182 students, with an average daily attendance rate of 98 percent.
In attendance: Board members Raymond Dziuk, Mindy Jendrusch, Eddie Bordovsky, Jerry Jendrusch, Patrick Jarzombek, Alfie Kowalik, and Marlon Moczygemba; Superintendent Linda Bettin, Superintendent’s Secretary Teri Crawford, Principal Christy Blocker, and Athletic Director Steve Marbach.
