Patrolman Matt Redd (right) of the Floresville Police Department assists members of the Wilson County Emergency Medical Services June 4 as they prepare to transport 48-year-old Sergio Xavier Perez of Floresville to the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville. Perez, who suffered head injuries, was the driver of an Isuzu Ascender that was struck almost head-on at approximately 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 181 and Standish Street by a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 36-year-old William Hedgecock Troy of New Braunfels, Redd said. Perez’s passenger, 48-year-old John Martinez of Floresville, also was transported to Connally with injuries to his hand.
