Donald A. Vrazel of St. Hedwig, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 26 days. He was born Oct. 4, 1938, in Texas to George Emil and Ida Mae (Hardcastle) Vrazel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Jane Kiolbassa Vrazel; and his brothers, Robert K. Vrazel and David Vrazel.

Donald is survived by his sons, James A. Vrazel and Kenneth D. Vrazel Sr.; his daughters, Dona L. Vrazel, Sheryl A. Vrazel Lanson, and Susan E. Vrazel Myers; the mother of his children, Carol Lynn Vrazel; his brother, Joseph A. Vrazel; his sisters, Julia A. Hummel Brand and Gloria G. Conway; his great-granddaughter, Addison Jade Ruiz-Vrazel; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, June 2, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig.

Interment followed in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, P.O. Box 100, St. Hedwig, TX 78152; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
