Floresville ISD responds to graduation bomb threat

(Revised) The Floresville Independent School District (ISD) has issued the following official statement regarding graduation Friday, June 7:

"A threat was found written on the wall in the boys’ restroom at Floresville High School concerning our 2013 Graduation Ceremony. FISD Police, Floresville city Police, Sheriff Tackitt, and the Texas Rangers have been contacted and all precautions are being taken. A Wilson County deputy will be on site Thursday evening to Friday morning patrolling the campus. A representative from Homeland Security with a bomb dog will be on site Friday to make sure the campus is secure. In addition, extra officers will be present before, during, and after the ceremony. It is our goal to make sure all students are safe and that graduation proceeds as planned."

As of 3 p.m., the Floresville ISD website displayed the following message: "FHS graduation will be held at the stadium at the scheduled 8 p.m. start time. We do expect it to rain prior to the event. We will wipe down... More ›

*Please correct... Graduation is Friday, June 7... June 3 fell on a Monday this year and this article was written/posted June 5.
