ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Aurora Esquivel Ruiz, a lifelong resident of Floresville, passed away in Floresville on Friday, June 7, 2013, at the age of 97 years, 6 months, and 7 days. She was born on Dec. 4, 1915, in Floresville, Texas, to Pedro and Genoveoa Carrillo Esquivel.

Aurora was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sons Julian Ruiz and Noel Ruiz; daughter Alicia Ruiz; sisters Feliz Marroquin and Josefa Esquivel; and brothers Noel Esquivel and Rudy Esquivel.

She is survived by her children, Olivia Rodriguez and husband Vincent of San Antonio, Adelia Esquivel of San Jose, Calif., and Genevie Medina and husband Joe, Guadalupe Ruiz, Jimmie Castillo, and Adrian Benevidez, all of Floresville; brothers Henry Esquivel of Floresville and Jose Esquivel of San Jose, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 11, at 5 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning to officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Armando Medina, Richard Ruiz, Julian Ruiz Jr., Fernando Benevidez, Humberto Rodriguez, Hernando Rodriguez, and Robert Sauceda.
