FORT WORTH -- The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is accepting applications for the Texas Beef Quality Producer award until Saturday, June 15. Applicants can download the application from the education section of www.tscra.org.

The Texas Beef Quality Producer program raises consumer confidence through offering proper management techniques and a commitment to quality within every segment of the beef industry. The award is open to applicants from all segments of the beef industry.

The Texas Beef Quality Producer award winner will be selected by a committee of representatives from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the Texas Beef Council, and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Nominations can be submitted by any organization, group, or individual on behalf of a Texas beef producer or marketer.

The award winner will be announced at the 2013 Texas A&M University Beef Cattle Short Course set for Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 5-7 in College Station. Winners of the award, as well as other qualified applicants from Texas, will also compete for the National Beef Quality Assurance Award.
