Carey Murphy is the 18-year-old daughter of Pat Murphy and Stacey Hastings and older sister to Kendall and Jett Hastings. She enjoys playing volleyball and listening to music. She plans to attend Texas A&M University majoring in biology and minoring in genetics.

Carey is a part of the First Baptist Church of Stockdale and volunteers at the annual Vacation Bible School every year. She served as Student Council vice president her junior and senior years and has been a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes for three years. She has played volleyball all four years of high school and basketball for two, but apart from athletics, she competes in UIL Feature Writing and was a regional qualifier her junior and senior years and a state qualifier her senior year.

Carey enjoys spending time with her family and friends. One day Carey hopes to be a neonatal nurse and save the lives of babies.
