Clayton Lynn, 18, is the 2013 Stockdale High School valedictorian. The son of Michael and Sandy Lynn and the older brother of Karlye Lynn, Clayton is the grandson of Shirley Lynn and the late Clayton Lynn and Don Thomas and the late Rose Thomas.

Clayton enjoys anatomy and computer programming. He plans to attend Texas A&M University at College Station, majoring in biology.

He is a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Stockdale.

During the summer months, Clayton volunteers at the local Boys and Girls Club as a swim coach. He has served as class president his senior year, as well as many other organizations. He is the president of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. Clayton has been a part of the Gifted and Talented program as well as various UIL activities for the past four years, including Calculator Applications, Computer Science, and One-Act Play, and has competed in the Texas Lutheran University Calculus Showdown. He has been a state qualifier five times in four different events.

He has been a member of the state silver medal-winning Calculator team, and the state bronze medal-winning Computer Science team.

In swimming, Clayton was named to the All-State team in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Individual Medley, with a bronze medal in the 100 Breaststroke at the 4-A State meet.

Clayton is a well-rounded student who speaks at many different events within the school and community, and is always willing to help.

When he finishes school, Clayton plans to become a hematologist and hopefully make a difference in people’s lives.
