Jacqueline “J.P.” Montgomery was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Nov. 16, 1994. She moved to New Mexico and then to Virginia before settling in La Vernia.

She began taking karate at Hill Country Karate in 2003 and earned her black belt in American karate in 2011. Ever since she was young, J.P. has had an interest in music. She played baritone in the middle school band for three years as well as in the Mighty Bear Band as a freshman. She started taking guitar lessons at the Music Loft Academy of Music in 2009, where she is currently employed as a marketing intern.

Throughout her high school years, J.P. has played a role in various clubs and teams. She was the state runner-up in UIL Headline Writing her junior year, and will be heading to state again in the same event. During her senior year, she completed an independent study project on advertising and marketing.

J.P. will be graduating as the president/co-founder of the Musicians’ Guild, co-president of BEARS Care, secretary of the Art Club, and treasurer of Speech and Debate. She will attend the University of Houston in the fall majoring in marketing.
