ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Offer condolences

Colby Jay Kent, 25, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013. He was born on Oct. 3, 1987, in San Antonio to Daniel Jay and Laura (Ashworth) Kent.

Colby was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Mac Ashworth; paternal grandfather Grover Kent; and maternal great-grandmother Zenith Slate Ashworth.

He is survived by his parents; sister Jacey Kent; aunts and uncles June Ashworth Broughton and children Parker and Claire, Dwayne Kent and wife Denise and daughter Misty, and Cindy Richmond and husband Steve and children Mark and David; maternal grandmother Barbara Ashworth; paternal grandmother Julia Kent; and many loving friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the La Vernia United Methodist Church in La Vernia.

Interment will follow in the Concrete Cemetery near La Vernia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Colby Jay Kent Memorial Fund with Wells Fargo bank in La Vernia.
