Hunkapiller leaves Floresville ISD effective immediately

FLORESVILLE -- The search will be on starting Monday for an interim superintendent to preside over the Floresville Independent School District after Dr. Jerry Lee Hunkapiller tendered his resignation effective tonight.

The Floresville ISD board of trustees, during a June 26 special meeting, accepted Hunkapiller's resignation. Until the district completes its process of hiring an interim superintendent from the outside, Assistant Superintendent Sherri Bays will serve in that capacity.

These are kids from San Antonio, we dont have a YMCA here in Floresville. So not even doing anything for our kids in Wilson county.

News update : Floresville ISD did not fire the transportation manager. I suppose this means having parties with 'adult items' is alright ?

I am unfamiliar with any of the political machinations, but on a personal level, Mr.Hunkapillar and his wife Wendy, were pleasant folks when we spoke with them and did business with them. We wish them luck in their future .
