The Floresville ISD board of trustees, during a June 26 special meeting, accepted Hunkapiller's resignation. Until the district completes its process of hiring an interim superintendent from the outside, Assistant Superintendent Sherri Bays will serve in that capacity.

I am unfamiliar with any of the political machinations, but on a personal level, Mr.Hunkapillar and his wife Wendy, were pleasant folks when we spoke with them and did business with them. We wish them luck in their future .
