AUSTIN -- Juan Jesus Martinez, 62, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender is now in custody after being arrested on Friday. Martinez, who has a violent past that includes aggravated kidnapping and rape, was wanted for parole violation and sex offense against child-fondling.

A tip regarding Martinez led investigators to a Dallas location where he was arrested without incident. Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations, Texas Highway Patrol and U.S. Marshal Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest. The arrest was the result of a tip, and Texas Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $3,000. An additional reward up to $5,000 will be paid by North Texas Crime Stoppers. So far in 2013, DPS and other agencies have arrested 21 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including eight gang members, and $47,000 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.

Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:
Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
Text the letters DPS -- followed by your tip -- to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
Submit a Facebook tip at by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).

All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook messages are anonymous.
