Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Donald “Don Don” Ray McRae Jr. passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the age of 32 years. He was born on June 17, 1981, to Deborah Rizzo and Donald Ray McRae Sr.

Donald was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Margaret Rizzo; and paternal grandparents C. W. and Ruby McRae.

He is survived by his parents; sister Angela McRae Sanders and husband Derek; maternal grandfather Sam Rizzo; aunts and uncles Sammy and Claudia Rizzo, Cynthia and Joe Farmer, Jimm+y and Jeanne Rizzo, Mary Rizzo Berlanga, Rick and Katie McRae, David and Janis McRae, Gyrda and Sam McRae, and Judy McRae; goddaughter Julya Hinojosa; great-aunt Lisa Perilli; numerous cousins; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 1, at 9 a.m. with a rosary recited at 10 a.m. in St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass was held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the church, with the Rev. Norman Ermis officiating.

Interment followed in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery in San Antonio.

Serving as pallbearers were Darrell Hastings, Kevin Bartlett, Waylon Pape, James Kruse, Jimmie Capparrelli, Mike Contreras, Keith Zunker, Dustin Olsen, Larry Davenport, Derek Brehm, and Blake Nester.

Memorial donations may be made by way of Masses.
