Oscar F. Carvajal Jr. passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 15 days. He was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Floresville to Incarnacion “Chonita” Flores and Oscar F. Carvajal Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Carvajal Sr.; and his sister, Adela F. Carvajal.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Norma Castro Carvajal of Floresville; his mother, Incarnacion “Chonita” Carvajal of San Antonio; his children, Vanessa Ximenez and husband David of Fort Worth, Adela Marisal Hill and husband Richard of Floresville, and Dominic Carvajal and wife Delaine of Floresville; his sister, Aurora Salinas and husband Carlos of Austin; his brother, Ernest Carvajal of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; and a host of friends.

A private family visitation was held Sunday, June 23, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

Visitation was held Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were David Ximenez, Richard Hill, Dolores Rios, Carlos Salinas, Joey Estrada, and Kenneth Castro.
