Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Robert Leon Lyssy, a lifelong resident of Falls City, Texas, entered eternal rest at 9:14 a.m. in his residence in Falls City at the age of 69 years, 4 months, and 5 days. Robert was born Feb. 20, 1944, in Gillett, the son of Felix and Rosie Moczygemba Lyssy.

After graduation from Falls City High School, Robert served in the U.S. Army Reserve for three years. From there Robert worked with Decker & Sons in San Antonio, Richardson Tile in Lampasas, and as a Falls City school custodian. After retiring, Robert worked for the Johnston Ranch in Kenedy. He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Albert Lyssy; and his sister-in-law, Paula Lyssy.

Robert is survived by his longtime companion and the mother of their children, Mary Louise Lyssy of San Antonio; his son, Mark Anthony Lyssy of San Antonio; his daughter, Robin Lyssy of Falls City; his brothers, Lucian Lyssy and wife Lola of Lampasas, Paul Lyssy of Falls City, and Raymond Lyssy and wife Lola of Runge; his sister, Dolly Mzyk and husband Don of Forney; and his sister-in-law, Loraine Lyssy of San Antonio.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 28, at 9 a.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Gregory Sawicki.

Interment followed in the Dewees Cemetery in Wilson County.

Serving as pallbearers were Gene Lyssy, Bradley Fransen, Kirby Fransen, Matthew Fransen, Kevin Dach, and Edwin Lusty.
