The Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas (ICA) would like to invite all area cattlemen and women, farmers, and area rural folks to the South Central Texas Independent Cattlemen’s Association meeting Thursday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Longhorn Museum located at 1959 East S.H. 97 in Pleasanton. A complimentary barbecue dinner, provided by McBee’s Barbecue, will be served.

After the meal, Jay Gray of Graham Land and Cattle Co. will discuss cattle prices and the futures market. According to Graham Land and Cattle Co.’s website, the company is the leader in South Texas cattle feeding and investing and has been producing high quality beef along with high quality service since 1987.

Also on hand will be ICA Executive Director Bill Hyman, who will update the cattlemen on the current issues affecting the cattle industry. He will update cattlemen regarding bills discussed in Austin, as well as give any updates from the state ICA convention recently held in late June.

The meal is complimentary and you don’t have to be a member to attend. Take along your neighbors to this informative meeting.

The ICA has been representing cattlemen since 1974. As the premier representative for the cattle industry, ICA works hard to provide an effective legislative voice for farmers, ranchers, and cow/calf producers. The association’s objective is to promote change that supports the efforts of cattlemen and their well-being, while combating policy that hinders the progress of the cattle industry.

For more information and registration for the meal, call local chapter President Brad Cotton at 830-391-0337, or chapter Secretary Susan Gonzalez at 210-275-5566.

For more information regarding the state ICA, call 512-620-0162, email tica@icatexas.com, or visit http://icatexas.com.
