Found: 2 brindle cows, on Sept. 12, at the end of La Gura Rd. in South Bexar County, located between South Loop 1604 and the San Antonio River, Gillett Rd. on east and Schultz Rd. on the west. Call after 8 p.m., 210-310-9206.

Offer condolences


Helen L. Doege, 82, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. Helen was born in Guadalupe County on April 27, 1931, to John P. and Louise (Schievelbein) Young.

She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek and a member of the Post Oak Cemetery Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Debra Ann Doege; her granddaughter, Kelsey Breann Doege; her brothers, Harold, Alfred, Alvin, and Daniel Young; and her sister, Viola Duelm.

Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Milton W. Doege; her son, David W. Doege and wife Kimberly; her daughter, Brenda L. Kirk and husband Alex; her grandchildren, Rayner E. Doege, Kendra E. Doege, Amanda L. Kirk, and Jessica A. Kirk; her brother, Wilbert Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation took place Monday, July 8, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek, with the Rev. Anne Kolmeier officiating.

Interment followed in the Post Oak Cemetery in Seguin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Post Oak Cemetery Association, 14145 F.M. 775, La Vernia, TX 78121; or to the Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek, 3305 Church Road, Seguin, TX 78155-0780.
