Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Billy Ray Hearn passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 1 day. He was born Jan. 5, 1947, the son of Donald Ray and Juanita (Riggs) Hearn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of more than 41 years, Linda Hearn; his daughters, Donna Lynn Curran and husband Robert, Billie Ray Cantu and husband Rene, and Darlene Silvers and husband Shane; his son, Robert Moffatt and wife Kelly; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Schroeder, Lindelle Fraser, Christian Cantu, Andrew Cantu, and Nicholas Moffatt; and his great-grandchildren, Mae Dollar, Molly Fraser, and Sadie Schroeder.

A memorial service was held Friday, July 12, at 5 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wilson County Spay/Neuter Group, P.O. Box 71, La Vernia, TX 78121.
