Clarence Edmond “Pete” Massey, 86, of McCoy, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013. Pete was born on Feb. 17, 1927, in Kenedy to Elton and Minnie Rogers Massey.

A rancher in McCoy since 1953, Pete was a member of the Kenedy First Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years.

Pete is survived by his wife, Alice Ann Copeland Massey of McCoy; brother-in-law Don Staggs of San Antonio; stepchildren Loell Lee Samson and husband Wayne, Sue Ann Spinks and husband Delbert, and John Copeland and wife Lorrie, all of Austin; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 9, in the First Baptist Church in Kenedy with the Rev. Tim Williams officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Texas Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1210, Beeville, TX 78104; or to the First Baptist Church Music Fund, 209 E. School St., Kenedy, TX 78119.
