1922-2013

Theresa Hahn Trial passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, in her home in the presence of her loving family. She was born April 17, 1922, in Hobson, Texas, to Raymond and Genevieve Malik Hahn.

Theresa’s life revolved around service to her family and church. She held many volunteer positions, including PTA president, Altar Society president, and Scout den mother. Her creativity was evident in many ways. She designed and arranged bouquets at St. John Berchman’s Church for many years, sang in church choirs, served as organist at the Oblate Grotto, played many musical instruments and taught her children to play and sing, and supported the beginning of her sons’ “The Countrymen Band.” She shared with others through her photography, generously giving plants, cuttings, and produce from her garden. Her crafting skills were legend.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Hubert Trial; her parents; two sisters, Margaret Merta and Lillian Kotara; and a brother, Eddie Hahn.

Theresa is survived by her sister, Gen Gabrysch; five children, Ron Trial and wife E. Jane Smith of Boston, Mass., Jaime Trial and wife Tracy, Gary Trial and wife Susie, Melanie Gilbert and husband Bing, and Michele Trial Westerman; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 16, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson.

Interment will follow in the Hobson Cemetery in Hobson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Boniface Catholic Church, 358 C.R. 220, Hobson, TX 78117; or to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
