The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driver’s License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. Country’s first indoor hunting shooting center comes to Texas

GRAPEVINE -- American Sportsman Shooting Center Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aimpoint Holding, has announced the launch of America’s first indoor hunting shooting center -- the Sportsman Shooting Center located in Grapevine.

Sportsman Shooting Center is a fully enclosed, indoor training center that provides the opportunity for shooters to practice on dynamic hunting scenarios inside an air-conditioned, live-fire cinema range using their own rifle and ammunition. Blaser R8 rifles will be available for rental, and Norma ammunition available for purchase in all major hunting calibers. Aimpoint sights will be offered as well.

Scheduled to open in September, the Sportsman Shooting Center will occupy a newly built, state of the art 9,000-square-foot range facility. This facility is the first of its kind in the United States, and will be used as a model for future locations across the country. The center will offer shooters access to an advanced three-part program:

•A 100-yard, underground sighting tunnel allowing customers to zero their rifles and optics with electronic target scoring.

•An interactive SimTarget training simulator using a non-firing replica firearm fitted with an eye-safe laser emitter. This system allows an instructor to actively monitor and refine a shooter’s form for greater accuracy.

•The first live-fire, cinema projection range in the United States, providing shooters the chance to practice their skills on a wide variety of realistic hunting scenarios from whitetail deer to African game. The scenarios are projected on a 12-foot by 30-foot screen with computerized scoring, and shooters may use their own rifle and live ammunition.
