Franklin D. Keilman
Franklin D. Keilman passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013. He was born on June 18, 1946, to Louis Edward and Josephine Rosalie Wells Keilman in San Antonio, Texas.
He was an avid hunter and traveler as well as Cowboys and Spurs fan, but above all things he treasured his relationship with his large and loving family and many beloved friends. Franklin was owner of Road Runner Wrecker in 1970. Later, he and his brother founded City Towing Assoc. in 1977 to 1993; he also had the contract for the City of San Antonio. He then operated many other businesses such as K-Mobile and America-Go-RV, but his passion was always the towing industry. He received the Tow Operators Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Franklin was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather who went to be with our Lord in his final resting place. Franklin had many wonderful attributes, loving and caring for all those around him, but his greatest gift was the joy and laughter he brought to all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Louis S. Keilman.
Franklin is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Victoria Krawietz Keilman; four daughters and seven grandchildren: Catherine Tuttle and husband Robert with children Candice Tuttle and Megan and Matthew Oliver, Rebecca Keilman with children Brittany and Daniel Smith, Christine Arnold, and Dusti Milewski, Josephine Keilman and partner Apryle Zeigler, Cynthia Rosner and husband Barry with sons Jordan Magaña and Hunter Rosner; his three sisters, Marie and Rudy Keilman, Betty Redus, and Darlene Shields; sister-in-law Alice Keilman; a woman who he considered more as a sister than a friend, Brigetta Fitzgerald; his sports companion, who helped us care for him to keep his spirits high, Jeremy Thornton; and many other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 18, from 5-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma.
Entombment followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio. A catered reception followed in the Blue Bonnet Palace in Schertz.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert T. Tuttle, Gary Phillips, Matthew Oliver, Daniel Smith, Sean Shodrok, Jeremy Thornton, Barry Rosner, and Jordan Magaña.
