Karen Jo Griesenbeck Stiles, a resident of Floresville, Texas, the past 15 years, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at 9:08 p.m., in her residence at the age of 60 years, 6 months, and 23 days. Karen was born in San Antonio on Dec. 22, 1952, the daughter of Anthony A. and Lola Josephine Foster Griesenbeck. After graduating from Highlands High School, class of 1971, Karen worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Karen married James F. Stiles on Dec. 22, 1980. She was a beautiful wife, a loving mother, and a wonderful gardener. Her grandchildren considered her to be the best “nanny” ever!

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Nurses In Touch in Floresville for their loving care.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Anthony A. Griesenbeck.

She is survived by her husband of more than 32 years, James F. Stiles of Floresville; her children, Nicole Johnson, Jason Hallinan and wife Tina, and Robin Price and husband Joseph, all of San Antonio; her mother, Lola Krupalla and husband Fred of Adkins; her siblings, Anthony Griesenbeck and wife Carol of Elmendorf, Diane Appelt and husband Roger of St. Hedwig, and Johnny Griesenbeck and wife Kay of Floresville; and her grandchildren, Garrett Johnson, Carter Price, Emma Hallinan, and Rylee Hallinan.

Private family services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s name to the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition at www.msaawareness.org.
