Deputies say man is habitual evader
Deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man who they allege ran from them July 16 and on other occasions.
Christopher Seale, 23, of Floresville is charged with two counts of evading arrest or detention and fleeing a police officer, according to Wilson County Jail records. His probation related to an earlier conviction for assault causing bodily injury has been revoked. Sheriff’s Investigator Roland Treviño said Seale was arrested without incident July 24, at his home on C.R. 106 near the Atascosa County line by corporals Gary Laughlin Jr. and Nathan Drzymala, and deputies Franklin Ashton and Nicole Camarillo. Seale is being held in the jail on a total bond of $30,000.
Seale allegedly was involved in a road-rage incident July 16 on C.R. 106. The victim called the sheriff’s office after the suspect fled. While en route to the scene, deputies observed the suspect’s vehicle on F.M. 536 and gave chase. But a blown tire prompted the man to park the vehicle near the Picosa Ranch. He then fled on foot.
Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt Jr. said earlier that he and 10 deputies who established a perimeter in the area of F.M. 1303, F.M. 536, and C.R. 117 were unable to locate Seale July 16. Two Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers joined the search. Attempts to gain assistance from a DPS helicopter crew were unsuccessful, the sheriff said, as all nearby helicopters were down for maintenance.
Treviño said Seale also fled from deputies in subsequent incidents. Lt. Chad Clark of the Floresville Police Department said that a driver identified Seale as a passenger who fled from police during a July 18 traffic stop in Floresville.
Additionally, Treviño said deputies have charged Seale with theft of property worth more than $1,500 but less than $20,000, in connection with a recent incident on C.R. 104.
