George Flores Guevara passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio. He was born on June 28, 1934, in Floresville, Texas, the son of Juanita Flores and Manuel Guevara Sr.

George was raised in McCoy. He lived in a nursing home in San Antonio for the past few years after suffering from a stroke.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elvira Martinez; and brother Manuel Guevara Jr.

He is survived by his brothers, Margarito Guevara of McCoy and Louis Guevara Sr. of Abernathy; seven nieces; six nephews; and his extended family, Roger Morales and Richard and Lucy Morales.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a rosary at 1 p.m. in the M.E. Rodriguez Funeral Home in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
