1943-2013

Hermina Marie Hitzfelder Kossaeth, 69, entered rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in her home in D’Hanis. She was born on Dec. 10, 1943, in Castroville, Texas.

Hermina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling the world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Hitzfelder and Francis and Myrtle Bohl Hitzfelder Echtle; and her brother, Jerome Hitzfelder.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Kenneth Kossaeth; children Lynette Sumner and husband John of Adkins, Tammy Kossaeth of D’Hanis, and Keith Kossaeth and wife Mary of San Antonio; and grandchildren Craig and Jason Sumner and Kevin Kossaeth.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 25, from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville.

A Mass of Resurrection was held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D’Hanis.

Interment followed in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 27718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or to a charity of one’s choice.
