Offer condolences


David Allen Bertram, 51, of Floresville, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in his residence. David was born in Lincoln, Neb., on April 18, 1962, to Thomas “Bud” and Marye Bertram.

He graduated from Grady High in 1980 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy that fall, where he served our country until Oct. 31, 1997. David worked as a QC technician for Sothern Folger Detention Equipment Co. for 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with his horses and grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Margaret Elaine and Amy Bertram.

He is survived by his significant other, TJ Mitcham; two brothers, Daniel Bertram of Kempner and Timothy Bertram of Bulverde; two sisters, Debbie Jackson of Arlington and and Kimberly Yeoman of Stockdale; two daughters, Morgan and Crystal; two sons, David and Thomas; 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. in the VFW Hall in Poth with Adam Mora of The Door Christian Fellowship Church of Floresville officiating.

A partial spreading of his ashes will follow the service at his home address. The rest of his remains will be buried in Grady, N.M., at a future date.

Services for the burial will also be determined at a future date.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society in David’s name at P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
