Found: 2 brindle cows, on Sept. 12, at the end of La Gura Rd. in South Bexar County, located between South Loop 1604 and the San Antonio River, Gillett Rd. on east and Schultz Rd. on the west. Call after 8 p.m., 210-310-9206.

Catherine Anne “Kitty” Lara, 61, of San Antonio, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Laurel, Md. She was born Dec. 29, 1951, in San Antonio to Frank and Rebecca Box.

She graduated from San Antonio College with a nursing degree. Kitty worked at Southeast Baptist and downtown Baptist Hospitals. She was also a traveling nurse for eight and a half years. She was instrumental in the designing of the newly reopened operating rooms in the Connally Memorial Hospital in Floresville. Kitty was a very caring, conscientious nurse and her first professional priority was respectful patient care. It was her care that made her highly respected by all doctors. Kitty made hundreds of friends wherever she went. She was loved by all. She held a high self-esteem in her professional appearance and social dress. She was a beautiful lady, and a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Box; and her nephew, Colby Maverick Box.

Kitty is survived by her husband, Pablo Lara; her mother, Rebecca Box; her sons, Chad McDougal and wife Judy and Shane McDougal and wife Lacey; stepchildren Darlene Lara, Brenda and Jacqueline Lara, Paul Lara, and Diana Burciaga; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Frank “Bud” Box and Brett Alan Box and wife, Faon; sisters Justine Gabrysch and Rhenee Garmon and husband Doug; brother-in-law Mark Lara; numerous nieces and nephews; and her uncles, Bobby Box and Ed Elmore.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Brookehill Funeral Home in San Antonio.

A funeral service was held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment followed in the San Jose Burial Park in San Antonio.
