VICTORIA -- The Wilson Senior Rifle Teams competed in Victoria at the 2013 Texas State 4-H Roundup Rifle Match this June.

Serina Holder competed on June 8 with her Wilson No. 1 team to shoot a score of 553 out of a total of 600. Holding second place, she returned on June 9 to compete in the final shoot-off, where she held her own. After a tiebreak, she took home the third-place individual title for the state.

Serina has also been District 10’s first-place winner for the past two years, where she has shot a perfect target. This is her last year to compete with her 4-H teammates, but she plans to return to assist the dedicated coaches send the Wilson Rifle Team to many more victories.

Serina’s teammates included Jacob Bailey, Cameron Clark, and Tristan Summy. Together, they took home third-place team honors. All four together scored a total of 1570 out of 1800.

Wilson Team No. 2 also did an outstanding job placing 16th with a score of 1343. Team No. 2 included Blake Eddings, Brandon Williams, Christopher Jacob, and Mercedes Guevara.

The Wilson County teams had a fantastic year thanks to the Wilson County Show Barn and many volunteers. The team plans to be back next year, and those interested in participating should watch for sign-ups in early fall.
