FLORESVILLE -- Last weekend, members of the Falls City High School cheerleading squad held their 12th annual golf tournament at River Bend Golf Club at Floresville.
This year’s event, held Aug. 3, had a great turnout with 124 golfers. Everyone was said to have a good time, but perhaps no one more than Grady Jolley. Not only did Jolley and his teammate Walt Heard win the tournament, but Jolley hit a hole-in-one on hole No. 8.
Finishing in second place was the team of Phil Moy and Gary Moy, and Chris Pipes and Boyd Burschmiller went home in third. Mike Crawford and Jeff Crawford finished fourth, and the team of Joe Theis and Corey Dziuk was fifth.
Wesley Stapleton won a prize for the longest drive, while Jolley, Carey Troell, and Rick Felux won prizes for landing closest to the pin.
The annual golf tournament helps fund uniforms, camps, and miscellaneous expenses the cheerleaders encounter throughout the year.
