Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. RoseMary Lyssy Kotara, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, in a San Antonio hospital after a brief illness. RoseMary was born in Kosciusko, Texas, on July 15, 1934, to Edmond and Emelia (Kolodziej) Lyssy.

She graduated from Poth High School in 1952, and married the love of her life, Benjamin Thomas Kotara, in 1955. RoseMary was a dedicated homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning, her sewing group, fishing, and family vacations. She was a cancer survivor and was a faithful member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Frank Lyssy and Anton Lyssy; and her sister, Elizabeth Jarzombek.

RoseMary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin Kotara; her daughters, Lanell Kolb and husband Roy, Sandra Eubank and husband Lindsey, and Martha Janousek and husband John; her grandchildren, Amy Kolb Gardner and husband Clint, Kevin Kolb and wife Whitney, Kristin Eubank, Amanda Eubank, Ryan Eubank, Michael Janousek, Megan Janousek, and Justice Eubank; her six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Peter Lyssy, Eleanor Jarzombek, Josephine Moczygemba and husband Lucian, and Susan Bienek and husband Lawrence.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Grzegorz Szewczyk, S.D.S.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were RoseMary’s grandchildren, Amy Kolb Gardner, Kevin Kolb, Kristin Eubank, Amanda Eubank, Ryan Eubank, Michael Janousek, Megan Janousek, and Justice Eubank.
