ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Bettye Maxine McMeans Main was born Jan. 11, 1934, in rural Wilson County near Stockdale, Texas, and traded her earthly body for her Angel’s wings on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Converse. She was the fourth of six children born to Murl and Annie McMeans.

Bettye lived her entire life in central and south Texas, and devoted herself to making a home for her family. She also had an antique business that kept her busy for many years. She traveled to many foreign countries and kept many souvenirs to remind her of those travels.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Marvin Kolberg; her parents; sons Rick, Chet, and Kenneth; nephew Clint McMeans; niece Kathy Kolberg; sister Merlene; and brother J.O. “Sonny.”

Bettye is survived by three children, Debra Kolberg Wright, John Kolberg, and Kimberly Kolberg Sanchez; sisters Vivian Posey, Barbara Hines (her twin), and JoAnn Loyer; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins from the McMeans and Neyland families; and many loving friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 6-9 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m., in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment will follow in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale where she will rest near her beloved sons.
