Avalon ‘Peggy’ Tomerlin

Avalon “Peggy” Tomerlin of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at the age of 90. She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Aransas Pass, to Reagan and Mae (Stone) O’ Neal.

Peggy married Hubert Tomerlin on Aug. 30, 1941. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Stockdale. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star in Stockdale.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Kathy Luker; great-grandson, Bryce Porter Tomerlin; and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Ken Tomerlin and wife Barbara; son-in-law Tommy Luker; and grandchildren Samantha Luker, Nick Tomerlin, Nathan Tomerlin and wife Jennifer; and great-granddaughter Brianna “Bri” Tomerlin.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 2-4 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Pastor Janet Fluth of Christ United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment followed in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.
