1943-2013

Alejandra Garcia Alfaro passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Floresville, to Manuela and Ramona Lairon Garcia. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville and a member of Harvest Christian Church in Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rafael Alfaro Sr. in 2008; and brothers Armando Garcia and Andy Garcia.

Alejandra is survived by her children, Maria Juarez and husband Felix of Floresville, Sara Jane Rodriguez and husband Mario of San Antonio, Manuela Hernandez and husband Richard of Jacksonville, N.C., Christine Navarro and husband Prudencio of Floresville, Rafael Alfaro Jr. and wife JoAnn of Floresville, and Tony Alfaro and wife Sandra of Floresville; her sisters, Sylvia Perales, Aurora Lopez, and Ramona Angeles; her brothers, Manuel Garcia, Paul Garcia, Donicio Garcia, Steve Garcia, Danny Garcia, and Basilio Montez; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Al Saldana officiating.

Interment will follow in the Floresville City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
