Blood drives set in La Vernia, Floresville

The Knights of Columbus will sponsor a blood drive on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the St. Ann Catholic Church at 14151 U.S. 87 in La Vernia.

The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center will also be at the Frank M. Tejada Texas State Veterans Home parking lot at 200 Veterans Drive in Floresville on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 2-5 p.m.

Anyone who is 16 years old and weighing 120 pounds (with a parental consent form), or at least 17 years old and weighing at least 110 pounds, and in good general health may donate blood. Donors must present a photo ID, the last four digits of their Social Security number, and date of birth. All donors will receive a Harley Davidson-themed T-shirt, a mini physical, and a chance to win a $250 gift card.
