The La Vernia Historical Association invites artists living within 100 miles of La Vernia to enter the ninth annual Chihuahua Trail Art Show & Sale, a juried show for fine art being held Saturday, Nov. 2.

All applications must be received by Friday, Aug. 30.

Artists must submit two examples of their work to be considered; however, sculptures, nudes, and crafts are not eligible. The entry fee is $25 plus a suggested donation of 30 percent of sales. Artists are responsible for sales taxes. Eligible artists may enter up to four works of art and are invited to donate a work of art to the silent auction.

The show is limited to 25 artists and will be held in the Studio La Vida at 106 E. Chihuahua St. in La Vernia from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with an artists’ reception and awards ceremony from 6-8 p.m. Artwork will be judged by a professional art judge and prizes will be given for first, second, and third place for Show and Theme categories. A “People’s Choice” winner will also be chosen by show visitors.

All proceeds will benefit the La Vernia Historical Association and the artists.

Applications are available at www.laverniahistory.com and must be mailed to LVHA, P.O. Box 513, La Vernia, TX 78121, or emailed to laverniahistory@yahoo.com.

For more information, call Susan Richter at 210-392-3281 or Elaine Stephens at 830-779-2636 or visit www.laverniahistory.com.
