The Pleasanton Young Farmers will present the Cowboy of the Year Open Rodeo & Festival Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16-17, in the Atascosa County Showbarn Arena between Pleasanton and Jourdanton on S.H. 97.

Take the family to enjoy the richest open rodeo in Texas with an IBCA-sanctioned barbecue cook-off, a washer tournament, chicken roping, and best looking welding truck. Live music by Gary P. Nunn will follow Friday’s rodeo, while the “Bracken Hale Band” is scheduled to open for Steve Wariner on Saturday.

Admission both days is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.

For more information, call Randy Rice at 830-534-0131 or Robert Earl Wood at 830-570-1211.
