AUSTIN -- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today announced that two individuals on Texas Most Wanted lists were captured this week. Texas Most Wanted Fugitive Fredrick Davis, 25, was captured Wednesday, Aug. 14 in Duncanville; and Texas Most Wanted Sex Offender Carlos Rios, 22, was also arrested Thursday by authorities in El Paso.

Davis, a known Crips gang member, was arrested on Wednesday when investigative leads led officers to a Duncanville residence where he was apprehended without incident. Davis was wanted for parole violation, burglary of a habitation and violation of bond/protective order. The arrest was not the result of a tip. The Texas Office of Attorney General and Duncanville Police Department assisted in the arrest. For more information, see Davis’ captured bulletin at: http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/fugitiveDetails.aspx?id=210.

Rios was detained by Mexican authorities in Juarez, Mexico, on Wednesday. Thursday, he was turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service in El Paso. Rios was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender and violation of probation. This arrest was the result of a tip, and a reward up to $3,000 will be paid. The DPS Criminal Investigations Division, U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and El Paso County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation. For more information, see Rios’ captured bulletin at: http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/SexOffenderDetails.aspx?id=204.

So far in 2013, DPS and other agencies have arrested 25 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including 10 gang members, and $67,500 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.

Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:
Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
Text the letters DPS -- followed by your tip -- to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).

All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook messages are anonymous.

The following link, http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/video/tipsterVideo.htm, explains the steps on how to submit a tip regarding a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive or Sex Offender and/or how to receive a reward once the fugitive is captured.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives featured in the Texas 10 Most Wanted Program. To view the current lists -- with photos -- visit the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.

Had me going there for a minute when I read the headlines.
Thought the FV police might have caught them.
