Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1930-2013

Mildred Ann Richardson Hamm passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, in Victoria, Texas, at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 28 days. She was born June 15, 1930, in Floresville to Ben and Mary Fisher Richardson. She was a former resident of Floresville and a resident of Victoria for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William C. Hamm Sr.; and three brothers.

Mildred is survived by her son, William C. Hamm Jr. and wife Cathy of Little Rock, Ark.; her grandchildren, Heidi Webb and husband Michael of Seattle, Wash., Jason Hamm and wife April of Cabot, Ark., and Aimee Passmore and husband Matthew of Sherwood, Ark.; and her great-grandchildren, Jaret Webb, Alana Webb, Savanna Hamm, and William Hamm.

Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Aug. 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Frank Kurzaj officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.
