ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Jack “Farmer” Brown, of Elmendorf, Texas, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the age of 80. He was born in San Antonio to Johnnie and Norah Berry Brown on Jan. 14, 1933. Jack was with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for 35 years, including four years as constable of Precinct 5 in Bexar County. Farmer Brown loved Jesus all his life. Throughout the years, he touched many people of all walks of life with his helpful, caring heart. We will miss his many stories from his interesting and eventful life.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Zook Brown; his children, Patricia Blackman, Jacquelyn Staggs, Susan Smith, John Brown, Virginia Christian, Lisa Gray, Clifford Carter, and Carl Wilson; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Monday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapel South in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the Oakley Cemetery in Bexar County.
