The deadline to file for a place on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election is Monday, Aug. 26.

Interested residents wishing to run for school boards, city councils, or other elected bodies have until close of business Monday to express their intention at the relevant school administration office, city hall, or other designated filing place.

Positions coming available due to vacancies or expiring terms include:

•Floresville Independent School District (ISD): two regular terms, two unexpired terms

•Floresville City Council: three regular terms

•San Antonio River Authority: one Wilson County seat

Other items also will appear on the November ballots, including Texas constitutional amendments, a Chapter 41 election in Falls City ISD, and more.

I dont know if the school district has a nepotism rule in thier school handbook. If they did, we probably wouldnt have anyone to teach there.

Is there an incumbent that is not running? Disappointed no one signed up to run against Bippert. He is the main one that needs to be out.

Mr. Twain, you may want to call the Central Office tomorrow and speak to the administrative assistant of the interim superintendent. The office closes at 4:30 pm. She should be able to give you the information.
