Field Appraiser. The Wilson Central Appraisal District is currently accepting applications for the position of Field Appraiser. Responsibilities include office and field work associated with the appraisal of residential property. Applicants must have a high school education or equivalent and have TDLR certification or be willing to complete requirements to obtain such certification.  Applicants must also possess good computer and people skills; have reliable transportation, and a valid Texas Driver License. Gloria (Cover) Glaze passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the age of 91 years. She was born June 18, 1922, to John Steele and Paula (Sultenfuss) Cover.

Gloria founded The Museum Preschool at the Science Place in Dallas, where she taught for 33 years. She influenced not only her 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds but no doubt thousands of family members and others as well.

Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ivan Eugene Glaze, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Glaze; sons Robert M. Glaze and wife Debra and Jeffrey S. Glaze and wife Betsy; sister-in-law Virginia Cover; her only granddaughter, Adrienne Glaze; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia, with the Rev. Stan Fiuk to officiate.

Interment will follow in the Cover Cemetery in Bexar County.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cover Cemetery Association.
