Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

1942-2013

Brenda Joyce McCoy, 71, of New Braunfels, formerly of Nixon, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Brenda was born on Feb. 20, 1942, in Coleman, Texas, to Harold Beard and Joyce Marie Buck Crouch.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Rick” McCoy; her parents; and her brothers, Bobby Lynn Brown and Randy Max Brown.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Nita Ryan and husband Ron; sons Jimmy McCoy Jr., Monty McCoy, and Steve McCoy; daughter-in-law Lori McCoy; former husband Jimmy McCoy Sr. and wife Rose; brothers Cary Don Brown and Steve Brown and wife Cathy; grandchildren Natasha, Karen, Chasity, Joshua, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren Donavyn, Kyryn, Jaxtyn, Jaxon, and Kash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. in the Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Terry Davis officiating.

Interment followed in the Dewville Cemetery in Gonzales County.

Serving as pallbearers were members of the McCoy and Waxler families.
