1944-2013

Robert “Bob” Earl Owens Jr., a resident of Floresville for the past 13 years, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, in his residence at the age of 69 years, 5 months, and 29 days. Bob was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on March 5, 1944, the son of Nadine York and Robert Earl Owens Sr.

After graduation from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Bob worked as a realtor for many years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Bob married Sharon Bueche on Jan. 1, 2000, in San Antonio.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of more than 13 years, Sharon Bueche Owens of Floresville; his son, Robby Owens of San Antonio; his nephew, Chip Garwood of New Braunfels; his great-niece, Alyssa Garwood of Jourdanton; his stepson, Troy Hoessly and wife Connie of Elmendorf; and his grandchildren, Conner Hoessly, Cody Geissler, and Camryn Geissler.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A memorial funeral service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel, officiated by LaJuana Newnam-Leus.
