‘County Line Band’ plans free concert

All are welcome to enjoy the sounds of the “County Line Community Band” at a free concert on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. in the Floresville Event Center on S.H. 97 West in Floresville. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

The band, founded in 1985, consists of volunteer musicians playing a concert program of traditional and pop style band music, featuring Jerry Hogue, Robert B. Green, Belen Escobedo, and Jacob Cantu.

Titled features will include “Three Kentucky Sketches” by John O’Reilly, “The Syncopated Clock” by Leroy Anderson, “Blue Moon,” “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”

The “County Line Community Band” can be seen and heard playing in the Peanut Festival Parade each year as well as at various parades and venues around the South Texas area. For information, call Jerry Hogue at 830-391-4211.
