The Mesquite Traildrivers will hold a barbecue cook-off fund-raiser all day on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5, in the Mesquite Hall in Adkins.

All are invited to enter and cook up their best chili, chicken, ribs, brisket, beans, or dessert. Each entry will cost $20.

Attendees will enjoy a dance with live music by “Ranch Rock” from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday as well as on Saturday with the “Nick Lawrence Band” performing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission will be $7.
